Inspired by Oli's post on his experiment with his Instagram photos of our roof terrace and HTML 5 Canvas, this week's presentations are all about HTML 5.

First, Christian Heilmann, web evangelist at Mozilla in London, apoke about HTML 5 and how it is going to play a key role in the web of tomorrow at the Web2Day conference in Nantes, France this month.

Since we moved in to our lovely new offices at Diespeker Wharf at the end of last year I’ve been taking advantage of our roof terrace - sadly I’m a smoker. Whilst blackening my lungs I started taking photographs (using Instagram) of view down the canal, for no particular reason other than the view being splendid (and a smattering of boredom!).

Over the weekend I finally went along to the Design Museum in Shad Thames to have a look around the retrospective exhibition for Dutch typographer and graphic design icon Wim Crouwel.

Spanning a career over 60 years, the exhibition highlights Crouwel’s functional and rigorously modernist principles towards design across posters, corporate identities, typeface and exhibition design.

We've been looking at using barcodes for a small research project. I've haven't been too interested in the whole qr codes that open a web page on your phone thing, as it seems a lot of effort for low value result. But this service proposition from Tesco (in it's South Korean guise) is quite awe inspiring. Say hello to  advertising as a service platform.

First, Christy Tanner, EVP and GM of  TVGuide.com and their mobile app, talks about social TV and how TVGuide is successfully navigating these difficult waters. I found it interesting when she said that the most social shows are not the highest-rated.
