Introducing Raymond Lyttle: the newest addition to the Many

This week, Raymond Lyttle joined us as Financial Controller. He used to manage finance at Thomson Tour Operators and Marsh Insurance, (the guy in the image above is not him, to be clear!) and is probably the least geeky of the Many (at least for now!). I asked Raymond a few questions as he settled into his first week at Made by Many:

1. What's your opinion on technology and how do you use it?

I thought I was fairly techy - till I got here! I'm nowhere near as techy as I should be if you compare me to the rest of Made by Many, but as far as the finance industry is concerned, I think I'm fine!

2. What are your hobbies?

Over the last couple of years, I had the time to indulge in my passion for photography. I've assisted a couple of studios and am currently revamping my photography website.

(The image at the top of this post is one from Raymond's portfolio, by the way!)

 3. What are your favourite books?

To Kill A Mockingbird is one of my favourite books of all time, but I'm also a big fan of biographies in general, and then sports biographies in particular. Muhammad Ali's biography and Malcolm X's are two other books I really like.

4. What are your favourite websites?

Fairly regular stuff - the news, mostly: BBC, CNN top my list, and then photo.net, which is a photographer's network.

5. What do you think the next big thing will be in the technology industry?

I recently read about how Pizza Express is going to allow customers to pay their bills with their mobiles via PayPal. I think mobile payment is going to be a big thing going forward now that the rush for e-commerce payment models has died down.

6. What are your favourite financial tools or sites?

Just Excel and Xero, and previously there was MS Money and Access. I look at Oracle's site a lot to see what finance-related technologies they're coming up with as I like to know what's coming up.

7. What's your next holiday destination?

I'd love to go to Thailand. I haven't been east - I've mainly travelled west, so it will be interesting to see what it's like. But also, I'm all about heat and proper beaches rather than man-made ones!

8. What do you like about Made by Many so far?

This may sound geeky, but there's a lot of knowledge here, as well as talent and passion for what you guys do. I'm really enjoying it so far.

Thanks Raymond, and welcome to Made by Many!
