Our top Slideshare presentations of the week
More Slideshare goodness. This week's lot has presentations from various people and companies that span all our areas of interest as a company: software development, gaming, digital projects, next generation devices and consumer engagement. Read on for more.
1. Polle de Maagt is a marketing consultant at InSites Consulting, based in Belgium. The presentation, done for management students, covers a whole lot of examples of digital advertising, including some Belgian ones that maybe aren't as well-known (at least to me). It's long - but a quick read.
2. Italian agency Frozen Frogs kept a close watch on the Facebook activity of 50 global brands for the whole of 2010, and then arrived at a conclusion of what their 'engagement rate', a metric they developed in-house, was. Some useful case studies in here.
3. Game designer Amy Jo Kim conducted a workshop on designing a player journey. From what gamification is ('a loyalty program on steroids? using game techniques to turbo-charge products and services? using levels, rewards and unlocks to drive behavior? turning real-world activities into games?'), this presentation is a great summary of the issues involved in making just about anything and everything a game, a phenomenon that is witnessing a surge in popularity (but that will hopefully die down soon).
4. Ivo Jansch, founder of Egeniq, said it like it is at the PHP Benelux Conference 2011 last week. He takes us through 27 ways to be a better developer.
5. Olof Schybergson, CEO of digital service design company Fjord summarizes their take on next generation devices, centred around mobiles and the iPad.
