Here are a few interesting presentations on design that I came across recently:
1. Minneapolis-based web design & strategy agency Livefront gave a presentation on design at Minnebar 2011 , a technology and design unconference in Minnesota. In it, they talk about the need to move from 'prescribed' design to 'responsive' design by paying attention to what is happening on the web and mobile.
2. Whitney Hess, a user experience designer in New York, is the author of this neat presentation on the design principles that lead to a good user experience on the web. Simple stuff that's useful to go through, even if you already know them.
3. Lou Rosenfeld from Rosenfeld Media in New York spoke at UX London recently, calling for the death of re-designed websites, and the need to reframe the problem and think of a site as a complex adaptive system.
