We’re hiring a strategist

Author: Peter Parkes

At Made by Many, we work at the intersection of business strategy, product design and software development. Strategists, like everyone else here, play an important role in all three of these disciplines.

As a strategist, your time is divided between existing and potential clients. The balance fluctuates over time, and you have to be equally comfortable with both.

For our current clients, you analyse, qualify, interpret and communicate their business (and political) objectives, both internally at Made by Many and externally within the client organisation. You identify new business models and work with clients to optimise existing ones. You also design, adapt and improve processes to ensure that Made by Many’s work is efficient and effective, and work with the management team to plan workstreams, structure project teams and build client relationships.

You also take responsibility for winning new business and the entirety of the process behind this. You seek out and develop relationships with potential clients, articulate and discuss Made by Many’s capabilities, and build and present proposals in consultation with the management team and our design and technology leadership.

We're hiring: tester

Author: Tara Bloom

We're looking for an experienced person to work as a tester across a number of projects. Our ideal would be someone who has worked in an agency atmosphere and is familiar with Agile methodologies and the challenges they can represent.  You should be comfortable with working in a flexible way and have the ability to adapt to project fluctuations.

We need someone to help us build a strong testing strategy and help improve current methods. You would play a vital role within development teams to collaborate in delivering strong products. You would also be able to help ensure the completeness of our test coverage and to automate test execution wherever possible.

You'd be working with a talented bunch of people (and a slightly deranged office dog), based at our canal-side offices in Islington.

We're hiring: senior designer

Author: Isaac Pinnock

We're looking for a senior designer (with at least 4 years experience) - a creative geek type obsessed with services, platforms and applications.

We want someone brave, bold, talented and ready to roll with the punches. We're *not* interested in people who want to design banner ads or marketing sites. If you want to punch the clock and fade into the background, this job isn't for you.

Above all, we're looking for a designer who understands what goes into successful digital products and services. You'll have experience of interaction design, concept generation, prototyping, workshops, branding and high-fidelity design. Designing at Made by Many means thinking, talking, collaborating and learning. Whilst some of your time will be spent behind a computer using Photoshop, Keynote and Illustrator, a lot of it will be spent with pen and paper in hand, visualising your ideas and the services we make.

We're looking for a design intern

Author: Tom Harding

UPDATE: This position has now been filled.

Made by Many are looking for a interaction designer to intern with us over the summer for three months.

We're looking for someone's who graduating or taking a year out for work experience. Whilst it is a paid placement, we're not looking for someone to help out with our work. You'll be here to create something new.

We'll be teaming you up with a developer intern to build a new product, application and/or service. The two of you will be jointly responsible for coming up with an idea and then making it real. We're hoping you're going to create something exciting, transformational, a marriage of creativity and technology, maybe something that makes us see the world in a new way... Everything is up for grabs, the only limit is time.

You'll be involved at every stage, from workshops and idea creation to prototyping and high-fidelity designs. We see design as a mix of thinking, collaborating and learning - being comfortable explaining your work and visualising your ideas using pen and paper is just as important (if not more so) as being able to use Photoshop and Illustrator.

Above all, this job requires a passion for combining design and technology. If this sounds like your thing, send an email to tomh@madebymany.co.uk. Tell us about yourself, show us your portfolio and convince us why you are right for the job. Please keep it short and to the point. No recruiters.

We're hiring: Ruby Developers

Author: Stuart Eccles

Made by Many are looking for some more great technologists to join our team. As a company we conceive, design and develop new digital products and services for our clients. We relentlessly focus on user experience through a synthesis of great design and great technology because we believe that technology isn’t just the cogs in the engine, invisible to user, but is integral to how people feel about a product and the companies that make them. The products we make closely resemble digital start-ups and we use similar approaches and technologies to build them.

Our approach is highly Agile, using Scrum and sometimes Kanban based approaches; we work iteratively but even before that we prototype products with lightweight technologies to refine our thinking and test with customers.

Our main back-end technology is Ruby, primarily because it is well suited to delivering innovative products in an iterative environment but we also work with NodeJS, iOS, MongoDB and other tech. We believe that making bespoke solutions utilising ‘small tools’ allows us to create innovative, emotional software. A lot of our solutions are deployed on AWS hosting and knowledge of deploying with Chef and scaling services would be helpful.

If you are experienced Ruby developer with a background making digital products and want to work in an environment working with designers and strategists collaborating on conceiving new ideas for products we would love to talk to you about a job here at Made by Many. We are looking for people with opinions about the right thing to do, passion for technology and great chops to pull off difficult coding challenges.

Please apply with your CV and your github.com username at http://madebymany.recruiterbox.com/jobs/4411 or email jobs@madebymany.co.uk
