Made by Many are looking for some more great technologists to join our team. As a company we conceive, design and develop new digital products and services for our clients. We relentlessly focus on user experience through a synthesis of great design and great technology because we believe that technology isn’t just the cogs in the engine, invisible to user, but is integral to how people feel about a product and the companies that make them. The products we make closely resemble digital start-ups and we use similar approaches and technologies to build them.

Our approach is highly Agile, using Scrum and sometimes Kanban based approaches; we work iteratively but even before that we prototype products with lightweight technologies to refine our thinking and test with customers. 

Our main back-end technology is Ruby, primarily because it is well suited to delivering innovative products in an iterative environment but we also work with NodeJS, iOS, MongoDB and other tech. We believe that making bespoke solutions utilising ‘small tools’ allows us to create innovative, emotional software. A lot of our solutions are deployed on AWS hosting and knowledge of deploying with Chef and scaling services would be helpful.

Over the past 3 years our little company has grown to over 28 people and we are now looking for a financial controller with experience of working in service companies to manage the finances of the business. Primarily working with the management team, it is a great opportunity for someone wanting to take on the challenge of this new role in an excellent work environment with great people.

Background-wise, we’re looking for someone who has been writing and editing for three to five years: this is a job for a professional writer, not an aspiring wordsmith. Digital copywriting experience is critical.

We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic UI developer with expert-level HTML/CSS/JS skills and a creative outlook to join our development team in building social/community platforms. Though primarily responsible for the coding and development of rich user interfaces, you will also be expected to work alongside designers, strategists and core developers with a view to creating rich web applications.

Are you someone with a passion for client-side programming, a strong interest in emerging technologies (HTML5/Canvas/CSS3) and have a good eye for line-height and margins? Then we're interested in talking to you.

We’re looking for a junior to mid-weight designer, a creative geek type obsessed with the coming web and fiendish about making new things. This could be your first job or you could have a bit of experience behind you – either way, your attitude is more important than your work history.

We want someone brave, bold, talented and ready to roll with the punches. We’re *not* interested in people who want to design banner ads and out-of-the-box microsites. If you want to punch the clock and fade into the background, this job isn’t for you.

We’re looking for a designer who’s excited to be involved at any and every stage of the project, from workshops and idea creation to prototyping and high-fidelity designs. Designing at Made by Many means thinking, talking, collaborating and learning. Whilst some of your time will be spent behind a computer using Photoshop and Illustrator, a lot of it will be spent with pen and paper in hand, visualising your ideas and the services we make.

We have a very small and talented development team here at Made by Many. We’re technology agnostic, and while we have a very strong Ruby backbone, we regularly supplement our in-house skills with specialists from a range of disciplines. Most often we do this with a trusted network of specialists. But now we are ready to add an exceptional Objective-C developer to our team.

The primary focus for this new role will be – of course – the iPhone and iPad (not forgetting the iPod Touch).

We’re looking for a few people to join us and so we’re asking about to see if anyone knows anyone. We need some creative geeky types with an obsession for the new Web who like making things.

Recently, someone in the office asked, “Who here was the last person to be picked for a team in the school playground?” Around half the company put their hands up – and that’s the kind of freaks we’re interested in meeting.

So Made By Many is growing, slowly but surely. It looks like the bursting at the seams prophecy I blogged about recently may very well come true soon.
