Videos of the week: social media

Continuing with the social media theme, here are three videos that touch on social and digital media.

Visa's Chief Marketing Officer Antonio Lucio talks about how social media has influenced the evolution of their marketing model, at the Brands, Innovation and Technology Conference at Columbia Business School recently.

Visa's CMO on Meeting the Challenge of New Media from Center Global Brand Leadership on Vimeo.

Peter Bihr,  Johannes Kleske and Igor Schwarzmann discuss the impact of technology on cities, our work today and on the media landscape in general, as part of the Uncomfortable Talks series in Vienna.

Uncomfortable Talk #2: Digital Disruption - Third Wave Berlin from LHBS Consulting GmbH on Vimeo.

And finally, an inspiring TED talk by Johanna Blakley, Deputy Director of the Lear Centre at the University of Southern California, on social media and the end of gender. An excerpt:

So when you look online at the way people aggregate, they don't aggregate around age, gender and income. They aggregate around the things they love, the things that they like. And if you think about it, shared interests and values are a far more powerful aggregator of human beings than demographic categories. I'd much rather know whether you like "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" rather than how old you are. That would tell me something more substantial about you.
