We're hiring: Experienced user interface developer wanted

We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic UI developer with expert-level HTML/CSS/JS skills and a creative outlook to join our development team in building social/community platforms. Though primarily responsible for the coding and development of rich user interfaces, you will also be expected to work alongside designers, strategists and core developers with a view to creating rich web applications.

Are you someone with a passion for client-side programming, a strong interest in emerging technologies (HTML5/Canvas/CSS3) and have a good eye for line-height and margins? Then we're interested in talking to you.

Required skills:

  • Expert-level (X)HTML(5)/CSS/JS/AJAX with experience of JS frameworks (in particular – jQuery) and able to hand-code standards-compliant, cross-browser compatible HTML/CSS/JS
  • Knowledge of web and accessibility standards and semantic markup
  • Ability to work with Photoshop/Illustrator templates and integrate front-end code with back-end technologies
  • Good working knowledge of Ruby on Rails – must feel comfortable working in an MVC environment
  • Excellent time management and communications skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team or individually with minimal supervision
  • Interest/experience in Social Media/utilities
  • Search Engine Optimisation
  • Experience working in an Agile/Lean way
  • Experience using source control (in particular GitHub)

Nice to have skills:

  • Flash/ActionScript/Flex
  • Working knowledge of PHP, in particular working with WordPress
  • Mobile expertise
