A new digital direction for the leading museum of art and design

The V&A has undergone a digital transformation in the last six months: it has a new digital brand, a remodeled web platform, a data model built (like the physical museum) around the museum artefact, a superb editing tool that any of the museum’s staff will be able to use with virtually no training, and a retrained and expanded digital product team. Made by Many drove the changes.

A marketing website that works like a product

Websites that market are no longer static brochures. To be successful, they need to be data-driven and as dynamic as their visitors. Showtime deeply understood this, and in partnering with Made by Many, redesigned their site and developed a design system and new collaborative working style that enables them to learn from real world use patterns and rapidly iterate.

With the Made by Many team embedded on site for much of the project, our collaboration allowed for rapid iterations, real time problem solving, and an eye towards knowledge transfer between client and agency. A new digital platform for a world-leading NGO

With over a million visitors every month, the World Economic Forum needed a digital platform fit for its diverse global audience. We delivered a high-performance responsive website and a powerful bespoke CMS in the run-up to its Annual Meeting in Davos.

We gave Made by Many an almost impossible task with frequently shifting requirements and hugely demanding timelines, but they delivered. The new web platform they designed and built performed brilliantly during the peak traffic of Davos, and unlocked really significant workflow, productivity and user experience gains.

A next-generation flight booking engine

We prototyped and designed a new platform to help Finnair balance two seemingly contradictory objectives: to improve the integration of ancillary purchases into the booking journey and increase revenues, while at the same time transforming the customer experience into something that people genuinely love to use.

Our approach joined insight from 100+ qualitative research sessions with Finnair’s commercial strategy to create a very different kind of booking experience. It will launch to the public in the summer of 2016.

The UK’s fastest breaking news service

We turned ITV News into the fastest breaking-news service in the UK, increasing traffic by a whopping 2000%. It was a huge and challenging task that involved a holistic rethinking of the ITV news service as well as redesigning journalists’ workflow.

Sparking a digital revolution in luxury

Burberry’s brief to Made by Many in 2009 was simple: ‘do something spectacular with social’. 16 weeks later we launched the luxury sector’s first truly native digital experience, Art of the Trench. By any and all metrics it was exceptionally successful: engaging a new generation of consumers, growing e-commerce sales by 50% and increasing sales of trenchcoats worldwide by 85% YoY.

Designing the future of self-organised learning

We worked with TED, Microsoft/Skype and IDEO to bring Professor Sugata Mitra’s TED Prize wish to life. We launched School in the Cloud at TED 2014, and the service beams thousands of ‘Skype Grannies’ into Learning Labs in developing countries, as well as supporting parents and teachers in developed countries to create their own Self Organised Learning Environments.
