Taking a leading exam board into the digital era

Trinity College London is a leading international exam board, specialising in the assessment of English language, drama and music. Trinity examine over 850,000 candidates a year in over 60 countries. In 2020, the pandemic accelerated Trinity’s plans to provide digital exams and the organisation turned to Made by Many to help them rapidly create new digital strategy and the new digital services and tools that candidates, teachers and exam centres around the world would need. 

Made by Many worked with with Trinity to define and validate new digital exam experiences and journeys. We provided Trinity with a clear execution plan, user stories and recommended technology platforms. We also worked with the Trinity teams to embed customer-centricity, product thinking and agile ways of working.

Evaluating Trinity's exam processes

We mapped key user journeys and analysed the current exam system, its goals, process and frictions. Trinity’s employees shared their ideas, frustrations and feedback they hear from customers. Their insights and feedback enriched our understanding of the situation.

Blueprinting the user experience

We tested our findings to ensure they were relevant across markets and subjects, in order to future-proof Trinity's examination framework. We then designed comprehensive service blueprints, detailing the journey and integrating actionable user stories for development. We defined 3-year strategic roadmap, delineating short, medium, and long-term actions for Trinity's evolution.
